Unmatched Wilderness Experience
Exclusive Outfitting Rights to Over 240 Square Miles of Wilderness and National Forest
Located in central Idaho’s enormous wilderness complex, our operation encompasses 240 sq. miles of the Frank Church – River of No Return Wilderness and Payette National Forest. In Idaho, unlike many other states, outfitting areas are exclusive. What this means is that, although we hunt public lands, you won’t have to worry about over pressure from competing outfitters.
We take game management very seriously and understand the enormous impact we have as an outfitter. It is our number one priority to manage our game populations for a sustainable harvest of healthy and mature animals. We believe in quality over quantity, and limit our number of hunters in order to ensure all of our guests can receive the highest level of service possible while experiencing wilderness at its finest.
Have You Ever Wanted to Experience the Very Wildest of Places Left Untouched in America?
Have you already had a chance to witness some of this amazing country, but realized how much effort it takes to really enjoy it? The logistics involved in accessing these amazing wild places are in large part the reason why they remain so untouched.
There is nothing simple or inexpensive about planning a hunting trip into the wilderness. It is a full-time job owning and maintaining the stock animals necessary, never mind the thousands of dollars worth of camp gear.
Once you factor in the extremely remote and difficult travel, the greatly unpredictable mountain weather, and the required pre/post season work, you have a scenario that is impossible for the majority of people. Outfitting is a truly unique and laborious lifestyle we are passionate about and have dedicated our lives to.
Let us help you to experience wilderness adventure at its finest.
Getting Here
Seamless Travel to the Heart of the Wilderness
Our passion for attention to detail isn’t lost on your journey to and from our remote part of the country. Despite our location we have made it our priority to ensure your travels are as pain free and expedient as possible. We work with only the finest and experienced air charters in order to maintain safety first and foremost. Although transportation services are optional on some hunts we highly recommend using our Chartered Flight Services.
Is This for Me?
For the Adventurous
Although our commitment to comfort is our priority, anyone who has visited the Frank Church can attest to the extreme ruggedness of the terrain. This is not a hunt for everyone. The mountains are steep, and there is nothing easy about traversing them.
Our experienced guides and wranglers will navigate efficiently utilizing horses as much as possible, however a large portion of every hunt will be on foot. Be prepared for long days and pushing yourself to new limits. If an adventure of a lifetime is what you seek, and you are ready to put in the effort necessary to reap the reward, this hunt will create memories you cherish forever.

EXCELLENT Based on 37 reviews Posted on Google DeAnn HowellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I hunted with Caleb June 2026. This was my first bear hunt and everything about it has made me want to come back and hunt with Caleb again. The location was beautiful. The tent was comfortable and relaxing. The creek was a refreshing cold plunge every day before embarking on the day of hunting. And the food from Chef Andrew was AMAZING!!! We saw an abundance of bears every day. Caleb worked his tail off making sure it was a great week of hunting. I highly recommend!Posted on Google Steve HowellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great outfitter, camp is awsome… Idaho mountain huntingPosted on Google Zach HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have spent 3 springs with Caleb hunting black bears, and there is a reason we keep coming back. Caleb puts a big focus on the small things that truly do make a big difference for his clients. Things like quality of the food, comfort of the camp, and being truly one of the best guys in the industry have brought us back year after year. Any hunt with Caleb truly is the trip of a lifetime, and I couldn't recommend his outfit enough. Caleb is a master of his craft, and has really perfected how to run a backcountry hunting experience. He has created memories for me and my dad that will last us a lifetime, and I couldn't recommend them enough! Best in the business truly.Posted on Google Chris HammondTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. There a reason we keep re-booking with Caleb year after year for a bear hunt. The entire experience is high quality, predictable, and worth every penny. The lodging, camping and food all get five stars. The actual hunt does as well. We have harvested a bear every time……and always see many others that we pass up. My son and I are going back again as soon as we can. It’s that good.Posted on Google John LaBancTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. May 2021: Hunting with Caleb is a five star event. He set up a side wall tent camp with a cook tent and separate sleeping tent. He went the extra mile and had ground lighting to aid in getting from tent to tent and the latrine. He had an outdoor shower and an enclosed latrine. The meals alone are worth the cost of the hunt. The bait he set up for the spring bear hunt provided a target rich environment. If you are looking for color phase bears, this is the hunt for you. May 2026: I had the privilege of hunting in the Frank Church Wilderness area of Idaho for spring black bear. Idaho is noted for the large concentration of color phase black bears. On a previous 2021 spring black bear hunt with Caleb, the owner-outfitter, I harvested a traditional black bear and a cinnamon phase black bear. My goal and wish was to harvest a chocolate phase bear. I related this request to Caleb who reviewed his trail camera footage to determine the most likely baited site to see and harvest a mature chocolate phase black bear. There were a total of three hunters in camp hunting over bait and one spot-and-stock hunter. Caleb reviewed with us images of bears from his trail camera at the sites we would be sitting. He quizzed us as to the size of the bears and whether the image of the bears we saw were a sow or boar and large mature bears or small young bears. This was a valuable exercise and gave us confidence in judging the bears we would be seeing at our bait site. There was one hunter per bait site. My intent was to spend the first evening at the bait site observing the bears and taking photos with my spotting scope and phone to share with Caleb to validate my assessment of the quality of the bears. One image was of a boar and sow sitting together at the bait site. This made it much easier to judge the bears. Caleb verified the larger of the two bears was a chocolate phase black bear boar and a definite shooter. The next day I was at the bait site early and settling in for what I assumed would be a long day waiting until near last light for the bears to come in to feed. I was surprised to see the first bears at 16:30 hours and more surprised to see the boar and sow. I watched the bears feed through a Nightforce NX8 2.5 - 20 x 50 mounted on a Blaser R8 300 WSM load with 178 gr ELD-X and secure in a BogPod Deathgrip tripod. The bears feed for about 20 minutes. Finally, the boar sat up at the bait providing me with a 164 yard frontal shot. The entire hunting experience was exceptional. We slept in side wall tents on wood platforms with twin beds and mattresses. Brunch, snacks, to-go boxes and dinner were prepared daily by Andrew, a professional chef. It took considerable restraint to avoid over eating and gaining weight during the hunt. It is a testament to the quality of service provided by Caleb that all hunters were repeat clients.
