Guided Hunts For
Bighorn Sheep
Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep
North America’s Iconic Mountain Monarch
Have you ever dreamed of hunting one of the most coveted big game animals in the world? Idaho offers the best draw odds in the country for both residents and non-residents on a once in a lifetime hunt opportunity. Our draw system doesn’t use points or other preferences, it is a straight lottery with 10% of tags allocated to non-residents. Our area offers some very quality rams, with very real opportunities to harvest Boone & Crocket trophies. Three tags are drawn for our area each year and our outfit has helped guide hunters to several mature rams in the past.
Unmatched BighornSheep Hunting, Fully Guided and All-Inclusive
Benefit from experienced guides with an intricate knowledge of the unit that will not only make your once in a lifetime adventure more comfortable, but also help you to access the most remote areas in order to locate the largest ram in the unit. We are passionate about sheep hunting and our dedication to finding the most mature of rams is unparalleled. All hunts are 10 days and are fully inclusive.

FAQs
When do I apply?
The application period for Idaho begins April 1st each year and goes until the end of the month.
What unit or hunt number do I apply for?
Wilderness Mule offers hunts for sheep in hunt #5003 or the 19a Sheep area.
What are my odds of drawing?
Both residents and non-residents have some of the very highest odds in the country due to Idaho’s unique draw system. Here you can only apply for one species in a special draw each year and sheep are a once in a lifetime tag if succesful. We have had hunters draw their very first time ever applying!
When is the hunt?
The season runs from August 30th – October 13th each year. We prefer to get an early start so you are in place and ready to hunt opening morning. Typically we schedule hunts August 29th – September 7th, but we are flexible if you would like to hunt another part of the season.
How difficult is this hunt?
Like all of the hunts we offer, this is by no means a walk in the park. We are hunting from 3k’ – 6k’ in elevation in some steep canyon country. Fortunately, we can do a lot of glassing from the river however, so we typically do not have to go on serious hikes each day until we find the ram we want to harvest.
